Hello everyone! I'm sorry this post is coming out so late! I've been swamped by school work. Such is college, of course. Anyways, I wanted to make this post because I actually got a nice, professional camera. It's Canon's entry level camera, but I'm excited to learn how to use it. You'll have to excuse the lack of photos this time; I was struggling to get good photos. I had my shutter speed set to something very slow in an attempt to capture light, so some of these photos are very blurry due to that. Some I've sharpened in hopes to make them clearer. I'll also have a post about my trip to Watkin's Glenn International's vintage weekend up as soon as I edit all the photos! For now, enjoy the last Log Cabin Cruize Night post of the season.
I love these pink Cudas. I think this one is from the 70s. There's something so cool about these pink cars that make me wanna drive one. I'm super happy with the reflection of the sunset I was able to capture on the side of it. It's a super unique photo I'd never get on my phone.
Of course, another picture of the lovely 90s Cutlass Supreme from the pervious two posts. (Click here for the 1st, and click here for the 2nd.) Sadly this one was super blurry and blown out, but I managed to salvage something. I like the lingering echo on the emblem, it's a lot of fun.
An awesome Lincoln Town Car! As a fan of the artist the Weeknd, I always like seeing one of these whole. In his music video "The Hills" he crashes one and it burns in the background. Always sad to see a classic car get destroyed, in my opinion.
I was only able to salvage these pictures of this Fiat, I believe in the 30s-50s date range, which was hot rodded out. I really love how the emblem picture turned out, and the wording on the tail lights. Such a nice color.
This Volvo wagon has a bunch of different colored panels and an Automotive Association badge. The sticker on the back must be some joke within the Volvo community, I just thought it was funny.
It also has a very old inspection sticker. It's out of date, and this picture is super blurry, but that's still just really cool to see.
Here's an odd car; I have no idea what it is, and the registration didn't say anything about what it was, so if anyone has any information, please feel free to leave a comment! It's super cool though.
The couple who owned this Kenworth rig were so wonderful. I was unable to find a good picture of the entire truck, which was such a beautiful truck. I had to over sharpen the image of the inside since it was way too blurry. But my mother and I were able to get in the truck, which was such an amazing experience for both of us. For me, I'd never been in a truck that tall, and I felt an amazing sense of fear and power at the same time. I really understand, in a much better way, how I can be a blindspot to a rig, and will do even better than I normally do to try and stay visible. I'm most happy with the emblem picture (which I love taking pictures like that), and I tried to give the backlight a bit of a brighter glow in the edit. The 3rd picture is a few from the open driver's side door, just to give an idea of how high up I was. You can see the Civic and the Toyota from here, more info on them later. For my mother, she was able to relive the moments she spent in these rigs with her uncle, who drove them when she was younger. I want to thank the couple for bringing the rig, and giving us such a priceless experience. I'll never forget it.
Now, I never totally understood the appeal of the 2000s Crown Vic's, I'd say they're too bubbly for my taste, but I drive an 03 Civic which is the bubbliest Civic so I doubt I have room to talk. But it's super cool to see police lights and the badge still on this retired interceptor. Nice to see history preserved.
I had a wonderful chat with the owner of this car, Jayme. We both love that 90s-00s style of Japanese car, and I adore this 90s Corolla so much. The mimic Japanese plate is so much fun, and sadly my pictures of the interior are unreadable, but it's covered in a galaxy print. We had a great conversation about our cars, and it was just a good time. You can follow the car's Instagram account here: @Corolliepollie. (Pssst, while you're at it, take a peek at my car photography page for more constant and exclusive posts, @lyric_civic, or if you prefer Tumblr, I'm @lyric_civic there too!)
Now if you'll excuse me for taking up extra space, I'd like to show off in full size, my friend Robert's truck. You can see other pictures of it in my post about the Tannersville show I visited in June. Robert came up with the truck specifically to the cabin so we could show the Toyota and the Civic together. Sadly, I wasn't able to get many good pictures together that weren't super blurry. But here's what I did get.
A classic emblem shot. Somehow, I'm good at these naturally.
A view from the ground, featuring the side of the Civic.
And this lovely shot of the back sleeping area, complete with our lovely teddy bear friend. This truck is such a well loved, well cared for, beautiful sight. There's pure joy in seeing the Toyota come into the driveway, because I know Robert has come to visit. But the special connection he has with it can transfer to the passenger. While riding with him to get ice cream with my family, I just felt the good vibes coming from the passenger seat, and the way Robert drove with such care, there's nothing that can replace that. A loved car can spread it's joy, and I hope someday the Civic can do that too. I know it means so much to me, and I want to have it in my life forever.
And my singular good picture of the vehicles together, and for privacy I've blocked out the plate, which is the clearest part of the photo. Still, it's proof we were parked next to each other, and were able to enjoy showing the cars together.
And one more tangent; I was able to get my spoiler painted to match! It wasn't on during the show, but it was finished this week. I added the moon phase stickers I'd had since the summer, and I'm super happy with it!
Alright, that's all for now. Have a great week everyone!
